Everton vs Newcastle Tip
Dominic Calvert-Lewin returned to goalscoring form with a strike in Everton’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday last week. That goal took his seasonal tally to 15 in all competitions and he only needs one more, which he could get against a struggling Newcastle outfit on Saturday lunchtime, to reach his highest ever total to date.
First goalscorer pick: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Crystal Palace vs Wolves Tip
Most are expecting a low-scoring game between two sides struggling for goals at Selhurst Park, but one man who will be desperate to break a goalscoring duck is Jordan Ayew. The Ghanaian attacker was Crystal Palace’s top scorer last term and Roy Hodgson will be hoping for more from him in front of goal in the second half of the current campaign.
First goalscorer pick: Jordan Ayew
Man City vs Sheffield United Tip
Are we finally seeing the best of Phil Foden at Manchester City this season? The 20-year-old has scored four in the Premier League so far and his 81st minute strike last Saturday kick-started the Citizens’ comeback win over Cheltenham in the FA Cup. We fancy him to put the league’s bottom side to the sword here.
First goalscorer pick: Phil Foden
West Brom vs Fulham Tip
Although he has managed to find the net only three times in the Premier League this season, Ademola Lookman has been a near-constant threat for Fulham and one of their stand-out players in a run of improved if unspectacular form lately. Will he open the scoring against the Premier League’s leakiest defence?
First goalscorer pick: Ademola Lookman
Arsenal vs Man Utd Tip
It’s hard to look past Bruno Fernandes in any Manchester United game this season when it comes to the goalscoring markets. The Portuguese attacking midfielder has 16 in all competitions so far and after scoring the winner in the FA Cup win over rivals Liverpool last weekend, he will hope to haunt another of the Red Devils’ old foes on this Saturday evening.
First goalscorer pick: Bruno Fernandes
Southampton vs Aston Villa Tip
Danny Ings has been a perpetual goalscoring since arriving at Southampton, originally on loan, in the summer of 2018. He has managed seven league goals this season and will look to take advantage of an Aston Villa backline that will still be reeling from the three they conceded in the second half at usually goal-shy Burnley in midweek.
First goalscorer pick: Danny Ings
Chelsea vs Burnley
It remains to be seen whether Tammy Abraham will be afforded a start by new boss Thomas Tuchel in this game, but the England forward looked keen to impress when he came off the bench against Wolves in midweek after his FA Cup hat-trick vs Luton last weekend. He will feel he can get the better of the Burnley defence here.
First goalscorer pick: Tammy Abraham
Leicester vs Leeds
In the absence of Jamie Vardy, James Maddison will again be out to lead from the front for Leicester this weekend. The former Norwich City man has seven goals to his name so far this season, with four of those strikes coming in his last five games. Leeds matches are always open affairs, which will allow Maddison to showcase his mercurial talent at the King Power on Sunday.
First goalscorer pick: James Maddison
West Ham vs Liverpool
He may not get the goals that his team-mates Sadio Mane and Mo Salah do, but Roberto Firmino has been getting among the chances more regularly in recent weeks and he ended a seven game goalless streak with the opener against Spurs on Thursday night. We fancy him for another goal in the capital on Sunday.
First goalscorer pick: Roberto Firmino
Brighton vs Tottenham
With Harry Kane likely to miss out following injuries to both ankles in Tottenham’s midweek defeat to Liverpool, Son Heung-min will look to shoulder the goalscoring burden in this game at the Amex Stadium. The South Korean has been in fine form all season though, managing 12 Premier League goals thus far.
