Manchester United Betting Specials: ‘Perpetual Crisis’ Betfair Odds

As Manchester United continue to flounder following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Betfair are offering some ‘Perpetual Crisis’ special odds on the Red Devils.

Any Manchester United supporter that felt their underperforming squad would begin to produce the goods once Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left the club have quickly been proven wrong as the club have continued to flounder under the management of German boss Ralf Rangnick.

The former Schalke and RB Leipzig manager was brought in to manage the club until the end of the season before moving into a consultancy role, but the Red Devils have been far from inspiring under his guidance so far, leading to questions over whether his long-term future at Old Trafford is already being questioned.

Although they’ve won three of their first six games under Rangnick, United have looked far from convincing in any of those victories and more worryingly, they’ve dropped points in a 1-1 draw at relegation-threatened Newcastle and a 0-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Aston Villa are next up for the Red Devils, in the FA Cup on Monday night followed by a Premier League clash between the same two clubs on Saturday. Will the crisis continue at Old Trafford against the Villains?

Betfair have priced up some ‘perpetual crisis’ Manchester United specials which you can find below.

Ralf Rangnick to leave post as Man Utd manager before the last game of the 2021/22 EPL season

Could it be that United move Rangnick upstairs or out of the club altogether before the season is out? If the right manager becomes available, surely the powers that be at Old Trafford will not want to risk seeing them join another club before Rangnick’s set to move upstairs at the end of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino is one such manager who could become available, with his relationship with the PSG board and players not known to be particularly good. Should the Parisians crash out of the Champions League, he is likely to be available and United are likely to swoop.

But what about Rangnick’s general suitability? The Old Trafford fanbase have grown weary of their team’s lack of cohesion and drive in recent seasons and if the German cannot improve things on that front, then perhaps United will cut their losses and dispose of him before the season is even up.

Harry Maguire to leave Man Utd before the start of the 2022/23 EPL season

The decision to bring Harry Maguire to Old Trafford in the summer of 2019 was seen as an intelligent move, with the ex-Leicester City man expected to sure up a leaky defence, but it’s fair to say the move hasn’t quite worked out.

Although he’s had his moments, the United skipper has never enjoyed a consistent run of real form, has come in for criticism from former Red Devils stars such as Roy Keane and even endured some legal issues after a now infamous incident in Greece in the summer of 2020.

So could United look to move Maguire on this summer? Unless Rangnick can form a better partnership between the 28 year old and French defender Raphael Varane, then it may make sense to cash-in on the England international before his stock falls any further.

Man Utd to lose or draw each of their next 5 EPL matches

If we’re willing to call what’s currently happening at Old Trafford an extension of a crisis that’s been occurring for quite some time, then imagine what was to happen if United were to go five games without a win in the Premier League from now?

Those five fixtures will see head to Aston Villa and Brentford before welcome West Ham to Old Trafford in the last game of January. They begin the following month with a trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley before a home fixture against Southampton.

The 18/1 odds show that it’s unlikely that the Red Devils will go five Premier League games without a win given the level of opponent, but they’ll need to raise their performance levels to be absolutely sure of picking up some victories within that run of fixtures.
