Newcastle vs Crystal Palace: Predictions
Newcastle stunned Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off with a 2-0 away victory. Although the Magpies had clinched the points in the reverse fixture earlier in the season not many people gave them a chance given their recent performances. However, Callum Wilson shone to provide the Magpies with three valuable points.
Roy Hodgson’s leapfrogged Wolves in the table with their 1-0 win over Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. Palace edged the game with Eberechi Eze’s second-half strike proving enough to clinch all three points. However, Palace have not recorded back-to-back victories this season.
Allan Saint-Maximin’s short cameo against Everton gave the Newcastle faithful some optimism going forward with the playmaker making his slow recovery from his positive COVID-19 test. With Sanit-Maximin returning and Wilson on the back of a Man of the Match performance against Everton, suddenly things could be looking up for Steve Bruce’s side.
In the earlier meeting between these sides back in November, it was a late onslaught from the visiting Magpies which saw Wilson and Joelinton score late on as Newcastle snatched all three points.
Newcastle vs Crystal Palace: Match Stats
Despite a recent goal drought, the two goals against Everton saw Wilson break the double-digit mark in the league this season. With the next top goalscorer Miguel Almiron and Jeff Hendrick joint on just two goals, it is clear Wilson is Newcastle’s main supply of goals and only West Brom (50) have conceded more goals than Palace (36) this season.
Wilfried Zaha is just one goal shy of Wilson’s 10 goal tally and as the Ivorian has registered by far the most shots (44) for the Eagles this season he is likely to be at the forefront of anything the visitors do offensively on Tuesday.

One thing which has been clear between the recent meetings between these two sides is a lack of goals. Both sides come into this game with confidence after victories last time out, but if their previous clashes are anything to go off this is not expected to be a classic.
