Bayer Leverkusen were the Champions League dropouts in this tie, finishing third in Group B behind Porto and Club Brugge. Bayer Leverkusen have missed Florian Wirtz this season and his return from injury post-World Cup was a welcome one. Eased back into the action, Wirtz already has three assists in six Bundesliga games for Leverkusen and also scored when starting against Monaco last week.
