Man City vs West Ham: Predictions
Man City have been in stellar form since mid-autumn and look destined to reclaim the Premier League title from Liverpool having created a 10-point gap at the summit. They now face a potential banana skin fixture against a West Ham side in fine form themselves, but Pep Guardiola’s men been flawless since the festive period, and will feel confident of keeping that run going.
Their last defeat, a 2-0 loss against Tottenham, came all the way back in November; since that debilitating loss in the capital, the six-time English champions have gone 17 games unbeaten, winning 15 of those contest and drawing just twice.
The Citizens’ domestic form has also translated to Europe, with Guardiola recently masterminding an away first-leg win over Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League last 16, but attentions must now return to the Premier League, where an in-form West Ham lie in wait.
Under David Moyes the Hammers have launched themselves into unfamiliar territory at this stage of a season. They are fighting tooth and nail to keep themselves in the top-four conversation and will not be deterred by City’s formidable record since November, having already secured a point against City in E20.

Man City vs West Ham: Match Stats
The goalscoring praise has been reserved for Ilkay Gundogan at the Etihad, whose newfound prolific streak has seen him net a league-high nine goals since the turn of the year, but this is a particular fixture where Raheem Sterling usually hits the headlines. The England international has been directly involved in 14 goals across 15 Premier League appearances against West Ham (eight goals, six assists), more than he has versus any other opponent in the competition.
Moyes’ job will be to find a way to keep a lid on the slippery forward which, of course, is easier said than done, but that is exactly what he did in the reverse fixture. It’s a rare occurrence for Sterling to have a quiet game against the Hammers so he may be looking to make amends this weekend. But, for Moyes, he will take encouragement from the fact that his side breached Ederson’s net in east London through Michail Antonio, who is now back to his scoring ways.

Man City are unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League meetings with West Ham since a 2-1 home defeat back in September 2015, but the visitors will take a crumb of comfort from their most recent exchange, have nearly taken all three points off the champions elect were it not for a well-wrought Phil Foden finish.
