Manchester United continue their preparations for the 2023/24 season with a tie against League Two Wrexham in the Golden State later this week. Erik ten Hag’s men are in the United States for a series of high-profile friendlies, including games against Arsenal, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
They have already contested in one tense and frenetic stateside showing, beating Premier League rivals Arsenal 2-0 over the weekend, in which the contest threatened to spill over as several yellow cards were dished out and a number of robust challenges went in, leading to on-pitch confrontations, notably between Martin Odegaard and Lisandro Martinez.
Next up on the schedule is a meeting with A-list celebrity-owned Wrexham, who are using the summer months to build their profile across the Atlantic following a much-publicised few years under Hollywood owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
Phil Parkinson is preparing the Welsh club for a season back in the football league for the first time in 15 years, and he has already taken on Premier League opposition this summer, losing 5-0 to Chelsea at Chapel Hill last week. They have since followed that up with a 4-0 thrashing of LA Galaxy II in Carson.

Man Utd vs Wrexham match stats
Manchester United are yet to concede a goal this pre-season in matches against Leeds United, Lyon and Arsenal. It’s hardly a trio of minnows, with Tom Heaton largely being tasked with manning the goal while the Andre Onana transfer saga reached its protracted conclusion following David de Gea’s departure.
Attacking wise, though, Man Utd have looked equally as sharp. Recently-named captain Bruno Fernandes is off the mark as the new skipper with a strike against Arsenal, while Jadon Sancho also nabbed in his reinvented false nine role. The struggling forward will be hoping a new lease of life through the middle can reinvigorate his career.
