Roma vs Man Utd: Predictions
The first leg meeting between these two sides was nothing short of a humiliation for the Serie A side. Despite getting off to a great start with an early goal from Bruno Fernandes quickly replied by two from Paulo Fonseca’s men. However, the Italians left England with their tails between their legs after a 6-2 thumping which has all but confirmed Manchester United a spot in the final.
It was matters off the field which made the headlines for United on the weekend. Protests against the Glazer family saw fans storm into Old Trafford which had their Premier League clash against Liverpool postponed on Sunday amid security concerns.
Matters off the field have also concerned Roma this week with the former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho announced as their manager ahead of the 2021/22 Serie A season. The 58-year-old had only been out of work for just over two weeks and has already found his next landing spot as he returns to Italy after his stint at Inter ended in 2010.
Although the scenes in Manchester got ugly, the postponed game for United could work in their favour as Solskjaer may not feel as much pressure to rotate the starting XI given the players essentially had the weekend off as they spent Sunday afternoon in the hotel awaiting a decision on whether the game would be played.

Roma vs Man Utd: Match Stats
The misery continued for Roma on the weekend as they returned to Serie A action and were yet again left disappointed after a 2-0 defeat to Sampdoria. The defeat on Sunday extended their winless run to six games across all competitions. Across those six games, Roma have tasted defeat on four occasions and conceded three or more goals in three of those games.
Bruno Fernandes helped himself to two goals last week against the Italian outfit. The Portuguese star has now scored five goals in the Europa League in just the seven games United have played since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dropped out of the Champions League group stages.
