Man United had made a decent start to the season but with tougher fixtures to come they would have hoped to been higher than fourth. Last time out in the league they suffered a 1-0 home loss to Aston Villa while in the Champions League they narrowly beat Villarreal. At Old Trafford, the Red Devils have won two and lost one and it is now eight without keeping a clean sheet in the Premier League.
Everton will be pleased to the way they have begun under Rafa Benitez as four wins, a draw and one defeat from their opening six puts them in fifth place level on points with their opponents here. They comfortably saw off Norwich 2-0 last time out thanks to an Andros Townsend penalty and a goal from Abdoulaye Doucoure. On the road, the Toffees have a mixed record with one win, one draw and a defeat from their last three.
Man Utd vs Everton: Match Stats
Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire are injury doubts and even with them United have struggled to keep clean sheets. Everton are one of six sides (United are also one of these teams) who have scored 12 or more goals this season and look capable of netting here. Two of the last three in the league here have seen both teams score and it looks good value.
Demari Gray has three goals in his last five and two from three on the road and his pace can cause United problems on the counter. He looks worth siding with in the anytime goalscorer market.
6 February 2021: Man United 3-3 Everton- Premier League
23 December 2020: Everton 0-2 Man United- League Cup
7 November 2020: Everton 1-3 Man United- Premier League
1 March 2020: Everton 1-1 Man United- Premier League
15 December 2019: Man United 1-1 Everton- Premier League
Three of the last five meetings between these sides have finished all-square with United winning the other two. Edison Cavani has not featured much this season but he has a good record against the Toffees with three goals in three. Four of their last five head-to-heads have seen both teams net.
