Man United have made a great start to the Premier League season with four victories and one draw from their opening five games. They will have been grateful for an 89th minute Jesse Lingard goal that helped them defeat West Ham 2-1 last weekend. At Old Trafford, the Red Devils have won both games by a combined score of nine goals to two though they did suffer a home defeat to West Ham in the League Cup in midweek.
Aston Villa have made a mixed start to their campaign with two victories, one draw and two defeats from five played. They will be hoping to build on their impressive result last time out defeating Everton 3-0 thanks to a goal each from Matty Cash, Leon Bailey and a LucasDigne own-goal. Away from Villa Park, the Midlands outfit have lost both games though did take Chelsea to penalties at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Man United vs Aston Villa: Match Stats
Despite issues in cup competitions Man United have started the season well in the Premier League and should have too much firepower for their opponents here. They will not find it easy though against a Villa side who were unlucky not to net in their 3-0 league loss to Chelsea when they last visited a top four side in the league. Backing a home victory and both teams to score looks the best bet.
The injury loss of Leon Bailey is a blow to Villa who looked excellent against Everton but Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings have both looked lively in recent matches as they begin to show signs of a promising partnership. It is the former who is tipped to score here against a Red Devils defence that has failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five.
