Luxembourg vs Scotland: Predictions
Scotland’s 23-year wait to appear at a major tournament finals is almost over.
It is just over a week until they lock horns with Czech Republic in Group D at Euro 2020, and Steve Clarke’s side will want to head into the tournament off the back of a victory.
The Boys in Blue produced an encouraging performance in their 2-2 draw with the Netherlands; stretching their unbeaten run to four games in the process.
They will be favourites against Luxembourg, who have lost five of their last seven games while scoring just three times during that span.
Luxembourg vs Scotland: Match Stats
Ryan Fraser has scored in each of the last three international games that he has started.
The Newcastle United winger was on the bench for Wednesday’s draw with the Dutch, but could start this contest with Clarke likely to shuffle his pack and ensure the squad are match-sharp ahead of the Euros.
Results aside, Luxembourg have generally held their own in recent times and been level at half-time in seven of their last eight outings.
Ranked 96th in the world, they stunned the Republic of Ireland 1-0 in March and took a shock lead in their 3-1 defeat against reigning European champions Portugal three days later, while it took a last-minute Erling Haaland winner for Norway to finally break their resistance earlier this week.
As a result, the Red Lions are unlikely to be fazed by the Scots, who have kept just one clean sheet in seven.
