West Brom vs Liverpool: Predictions
It looks like the race for the top four is going to go down to the wire. Liverpool’s impressive victory against bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday night gave the Reds a huge boost in their hopes of playing in next season’s Champions League.
Something which has already been confirmed is West Brom’s future having been relegated back to the Premier League already. The Baggies could still finish 18th, however, with just three games to go they are now mathematically unable to save themselves from the drop.
Three games remain for Jurgen Klopp and his side, a win over the Baggies on the weekend would take them to 63 points and one behind fourth-placed Chelsea with the same number of games played. The Blues have the Champions League final coming up and it does make you wonder whether their players will have one eye on that final in the last two games of the season.
With the pressure of fighting relegation now off them, it will be interesting to see whether Sam Allardyce’s side can pull off another result like they were able to achieve at Stamford Bridge when they beat Thomas Tuchel’s side 5-2.
West Brom vs Liverpool: Match Stats
No side has conceded more goals than West Brown (68) this season. The Baggies have been shambolic defensively this season and on Sunday they face a Liverpool side who have netted the fourth most of any side this season. Mohamed Salah (21) will have his sights set on tipping Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane (21) in the race for the Golden Boot.
Thiago Alcantara has had a turbulent start to life in England since making his move from Bayern Munich last season, however, in recent weeks he has shown signs of getting back to his best. Despite only making 20 appearances this season and starting just 16 games, the Spaniard has made 1441 passes and we think he will be in the thick of the action on Sunday.

The Baggies have been the scourge of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the last few years when the two sides have met. Despite being relegated in 2017/2018, West Brom held the Reds to draws both home and away in that campaign, while the Midlands side also came out on top when the two teams met in the FA Cup Fourth Round in that same season.
