Liverpool return to the capital this weekend riding the crest of a wave having eliminated Arsenal from the League Cup semi-final on Thursday. Jurgen Klopp and his charges will now venture further south on the M25 to lock horns with a Palace side who have lost each of their last nine Premier League games against them.
London has not been a happy hunting ground for the Reds in recent times in the Premier League, with Klopp’s men having not won any of their previous four games. The Reds last had a longer winless league run in the capital between November 2014 and October 2015 under Brendan Rodgers and Klopp’s first game.
The German will be pitting tactical wits with Patrick Vieira, who is yet to lose consecutive Premier League home games as Palace manager. The Eagles are 11th in the table and will be looking to push into the top half, but they will have to score first, which they haven’t done in any of their last four games against Liverpool.
Liverpool simply love playing Palace. They have won each of their last nine games against them by an aggregate scoreline of 27-5. Even without the likes of talismanic duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, Klopp will back his side to ask more than a few questions of Vicente Guaita.
