Liverpool and Bayern Munich take their respective pre-seasons to Singapore this week as they both build up towards the start of the 2023/24 season. Jurgen Klopp’s men have already defeated Leicester 4-0 in Kallang, and attention now turns to the German champions for a real blockbuster friendly.
The Reds face a huge season after a vastly underwhelming 2022/23, which saw them place outside the Champions League places. Klopp has already been working hard in the transfer market to strengthen his squad with the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai — and will be hoping both can transform the fortunes of his side in 2023/24.
Thomas Tuchel meanwhile has had a bit of an odd pre-season. After battering German minnows Rottach-Egern 27-0, his side came up short 2-1 to European champions Manchester City and could only put one past Kawasaki Frontale in Japan last week. The former Chelsea boss will want his side to put in a big performance on Wednesday to really assess where his squad is at the moment.
