A week after they were initially scheduled to meet, Liverpool and Arsenal will commence their battle for a place in this season’s EFL Cup final.
By the time they kick off, they will already know the identity of their potential opponents, with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea playing their second leg 24 hours earlier.
Seeking a first EFL Cup title since 2012, Liverpool have only lost five of their 17 previous semi-final ties in the competition.
Although unbeaten in 23 on home soil, Sunday’s FA Cup win over Shrewsbury Town saw the Reds end a run of four matches without victory over 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have lost their last two matches after a streak of five successive wins.
The top scorers in this season’s competition with 16 goals, the Gunners have prevailed in three of their last four semi-finals.

Liverpool vs Arsenal: Match Stats
With Arsenal having kept one clean sheet in five matches and Liverpool being without one in six, we can expect goals at Anfield.
This fixture has been very much to the liking of Diogo Jota in recent times; the former Wolves forward scoring four times in his last four appearances against the Gunners.
Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah loves the EFL Cup having already registered 10 goals in the competition. The young striker is the top scorer in the event in 2021-22 after netting five times, including a hat-trick against Sunderland last time out.
