Juventus vs AC Milan: Predictions
It has not been a happy return to Turin for Andrea Pirlo, who has marked his managerial bow and maiden campaign as Juventus head coach by surrendering the Serie A title to Inter Milan, ending The Old Lady‘s nine years of dominance in Italy as a result, but he must now ensure they secure Champions League football.
Incredibly, Juve are third, but just two points currently separates them from Napoli in fifth, and if AC Milan can produce a win this weekend, then the Torinese could find themselves outside the Champions League qualification places if Gennaro Gattuso’s side capitalise on any shortcomings against Spezia.
For the Rossoneri, Stefano Pioli has worked wonders to eliminate the initial stigma on his name when he first pitched up at the San Siro, transforming the club from sleeping giant to genuine Scudetto challengers, but since the turn of the year, it’s been Antonio Conte’s side cantering to league success.
Now, Pioli must ensure his side don’t collapse completely, with that same predicament facing his side if Napoli win on Saturday and Juventus also seal victory, which would place the Milan giants outside the top four, and scrambling desperately to make up ground as we approach the home straight.

Juventus vs AC Milan: Match Stats
Contests of such magnitude require big names, and few carry the sort of stardust that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo carry. Two titans of the game, Ibrahimovic, 39, and Ronaldo, 36, are very much in what should be considered their twilight years, but neither are showing signs of slowing down.
Ronaldo currently leads the Capocannoniere race — an award won twice by Ibrahimovic in 2008/09 and 2011/12 — with 27 goals, but Milan’s marksman is certainly no laggard with 15 to his name. Both will be relishing the big occasion, and both will want to play protagonist for their respective sides.
Even if Juve do find themselves a goal down, Pirlo will not worry too much, as no side have gained more points from trailing situations than his in Serie A this season (17), so don’t be surprised to see Milan break the deadlock but the hosts fight back, in a match that has all the ingredients of a classic.
12 Jun 2020 – Juventus 0-0 AC Milan – Coppa Italia
13 Feb 2020 – AC Milan 1-1 Juventus – Coppa Italia
10 Nov 2019 – Juventus 1-0 AC Milan – Serie A
Juventus have won each of their last nine Serie A home matches against AC Milan, while they have also triumphed in 15 league meetings with the club since 2011/12, versus no other side have they won more in that period, enjoying similar success against Lazio and Udinese, but having played a game more in both cases.
