Italy and Germany begin their Nations League campaign on Saturday evening when they meet here at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in Bologna. They are both among a four team group that also includes England and Hungary.
The European Champions have struggled of late winning just one of their last five including a 3-0 loss to Argentina on Wednesday evening. Germany have been on great form since losing to England in the Euros winning eight and drawing one of their last nine.
At home, Italy have won just two of their last seven which includes a recent play-off defeat to North Macedonia. On the road, Germany are unbeaten in five winning four of these and drawing with the Netherlands.
These two sides have not actually met since 2016 in a November friendly that finished in a goalless draw. Three of their last four meetings have ended all-square the other was won by Germany.
