While things are still close in the race for the Championship play-off places, there is a gap starting to open up between the top six and those below them. One of the teams currently on the periphery of the play-off race is West Brom who sit 11th, six points behind sixth-placed Luton Town after a recent winless run.
Having lifted themselves up the table following the poor start to the season under Steve Bruce, West Brom went three games without victory in February, losing twice to Birmingham and Watford either side of a draw against Blackburn. But they did bring that run to an end at the weekend thanks to an impressive 2-0 victory over third-placed Middlesbrough.
Hull, meanwhile, appear to be in limbo for the remainder of the season, too far away from the play-off places but also looking pretty safe from relegation. However, if they continue their current form the Tigers could be in danger.
The Tigers returned from the World Cup break unbeaten in six Championship matches but that run did include just two victories with four draws, ultimately coming to an end with a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United. Two wins followed but Hull now go into this game without a win in four maches, drawing two and losing two, scoring just one goal.
