Man City vs Monchengladbach: Predictions
Manchester City cruised to a 2-0 win when these two sides met in the first leg just a few weeks ago, however, were left ruing a host of missed opportunities to extend their advantage even further. Bernando Silva and Gabriel Jesus got their names on the scoresheet to give Pep Guardiola’s side the two away goal advantage.
Marco Rose’s side are having a season to forget in the Bundesliga with Die Fohlen slumped down in 10th spot. Gladbach suffered their eighth defeat of the season on Saturday away to Augsburg to extend Gladbach’s recent record to four defeats in their last four games.
Since their defeat to Manchester United, City have bounced back with consecutive victories over Southampton and then Fulham on the weekend to extended their lead at the top of the table to 14 points from their city rivals.
The last time the German side travelled to Manchester for a Champions League game they suffered their joint heaviest defeat in their history playing in the competition as City cruised to a 4-0 win. Monchengladbach have an uphill task at hand if they wish to progress to the quarter-finals and it will take something special to upset a City side which have only lost twice at home all season.
