Southampton vs Fulham: Predictions
Scott Parker’s side’s fate was confirmed on Monday night as their 2-0 defeat at home to Burnley sealed their spot in the bottom three of the Premier League table. After just returning to the top flight this season, the Cottagers have just three more games in the top flight to enjoy before returning to the Championship for next season.
Southampton have survived for another season of top-flight football. An inconsistent season of results has left Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men sitting dangerously around the drop zone but with the pressure off them on Tuesday night, they were able to put Crystal Palace to the sword in a convincing 3-1 victory.
It will be interesting to see how the Cottagers cope without the pressure of looming relegation. At times this season the Cottagers have played attractive football but have been unable to convert their performances into victories. However, could Monday’s disappointment kick them into life for the final few games remaining.

Southampton vs Fulham: Match Stats
In the Saints’ last two Premier League victories the south coast side has conceded first. Against both Crystal Palace and Burnley Hasenhuttl’s side found themselves behind within the first 15 minutes but were able to claw their way back into the game and prevail as winners.
Danny Ings has proven to be Southampton’s main man once again this season and having returned from injury on Tuesday night the Englishman found the back of the net on two occasions. In the 29-year-old’s last four Premier League games he has netted on four occasions. With 12 league goals to his name this season, it is likely his injury issues will be the reason why he may miss out on this summer’s England squad.

06 January 2018 – Fulham 0-1 Southampton (FA Cup)
01 February 2014 – Fulham 0-3 Southampton (Premier League)
The Cottagers have not fared well in the recent meetings between the two sides. The London side have just one win to their name in the past six clashes and that came back in 2018 in the Premier League. With nothing more than pride to play for, can Parker’s side put a show on for their fans?
