Chelsea have been impeccable since Thomas Tuchel took over as manager, losing just two of their 22 games under the German across all competitions so far. The Blues beat West Ham last week to leave themselves in a commanding position in the race for the top four, while they also came home from Real Madrid with a valuable 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.
They face a Fulham side in desperate need of an unexpected result this week. Scott Parker’s men are now seven points adrift of Brighton in 17th and with just 15 points left to play for, there is absolutely no margin for error. The Cottagers’ recent record against their West London rivals won’t fill supporters with much confidence but records are there to be broken and must be this weekend to give Fulham’s survival hopes a shot in the arm.
Chelsea vs Fulham: Match Stats
Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 18 home games against Fulham in all competitions (W10 D8) since a 0-2 second tier defeat in October 1979.
Fulham have won just one of their 29 Premier League matches against Chelsea (D10 L18), winning 1-0 in March 2006 at Craven Cottage.
Chelsea keeper Édouard Mendy has kept 15 clean sheets in his 27 Premier League games this season, with only Ederson keeping more (17).
Chelsea have failed to score more than a single goal in a match in their last five outings. Fulham haven’t scored more than once since beating Everton 2-0 in mid-February — a run of 10 games.
Chelsea vs Fulham: Head to Head
16 January 2021 – Fulham 0-1 Chelsea – Premier League
3 March 2019 – Fulham 1-2 Chelsea – Premier League
2 December 2018 – Chelsea 2-0 Fulham – Premier League
1 March 2014 – Fulham 1-3 Chelsea – Premier League
21 September 2013 – Chelsea 2-0 Fulham – Premier League
Chelsea were Scott Parker’s first opponents as Fulham manager in 2019, beating the Cottagers 2-1 and continuing their dominance of this fixture. The Blues are unbeaten in their last 20 games against Fulham in all competitions, with a 1-0 win in March 2006 the Cottagers’ only win since 1979 (39 games). It’s, therefore, unsurprising that Fulham’s win percentage against Chelsea (6%) is the worst in the English top-flight among the fixtures to have been played at least 50 times.
