FULHAM VS ASTON VILLA: PREDICTIONS
Newly-promoted Fulham play host to Aston Villa on Monday, with Scott Parker looking to pick up his side’s first points of the new Premier League season.
The Cottagers started with a whimper, losing 3-0 to Arsenal on matchday one before following up with a 4-3 defeat to Leeds last time out. Villa meanwhile were made to sweat for an opening-day 1-0 win over 10-man Sheffield United, with Ezri Konsa separating the sides.
In a repeat of the 2018 Championship play-off final, which saw Fulham triumph at the Wembley showpiece, Villa will be looking to end a four-game winless run against their west London counterparts and exact revenge when they travel to the capital.
To prevent the Brummies returning home with three points on the board, Parker must tighten up his leaky backline and ensure his side continue the goalscoring form they showcased at Elland Road over the weekend. That, however, is easier said than done.

FULHAM VS ASTON VILLA: TEAM STATS
Although Aston Villa kept a clean sheet in their opening game of the season, the chances of the visitors producing another defensive masterclass are slim. The Villains have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 26 away games in the top-flight, stretching back to January 2016. They also failed to keep back-to-back clean sheets in the league last season and are winless on their last 10 visits to the capital. Fulham meanwhile have already shipped in seven goals in just two games, so expect fireworks in west London.
Aleksandar Mitrovic will be chomping at the bit to get back on the turf after opening his account for the season against Leeds. Since his debut for Fulham in February 2018, the towering Serb has scored 39 per cent of the Cottagers’ league goals, and he will be desperate to maintain that impressive scoring metric when Villa travel south.
Fulham will be buoyed by their recent form against Villa, having clinched victory in four of the previous five meetings, including that aforementioned Championship play-off final. But, given their respective starts to the campaign, Villa will be feeling the more confident of the two clubs this weekend.
