Squawka Betting Tip

Levi Colwill might be a centre-back, but he’s been making waves in the shot markets lately—and he’s well worth a look to register at least one effort on target against Jordan Pickford. The Chelsea defender fired off four shots in his last Premier League game at Stamford Bridge against Ipswich and followed that up with two more at Fulham. He’s now had at least one attempt in eight of his last 11 league matches, proving he’s not just a defensive rock but also a genuine threat going forward—especially from set-pieces. With his aerial presence and growing confidence, Colwill is a smart pick if you’re hunting for value in the player shots market.

I'm going one step further with my longshot and I've had a small punt on Colwill to let off at least two shots and commit at least two fouls. This is a bet that has landed in the Chelsea defenders' last two matches. Against Fulham last week he recorded two shots and two fouls. While against Ipswich the week before, he recorded four shots and four fouls. Against a stubborn Everton side who are challenging to break down, I can envisage him having some shots from set pieces and committing a couple.

Squawka Betting Tip

Bayer Leverkusen are almost certain to finish second in the Bundesliga and they are playing like it with only three wins in their last nine games in all competitions. Augsburg's only defeat in their last 10 matches was 3-1 to Bayern Munich and they can make their mark in this game too.

Squawka Betting Tip

Bayern are closing in on regaining the Bundesliga title after their 11-year run of championships was broken by Leverkusen last season and Harry Kane can help to fire them three points closer by adding to his 24 league goals. Mainz won the teams' first league meeting 2-1 and can get on the scoresheet again.

Squawka Betting Tip

Paired with Wissa to Score is Jan Paul van Hecke to be fouled one or more times in the match. Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke has been fouled 11 times in his last six league matches. His foul-won totals in that period read 3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, and he well looks overpriced to continue that streak against West Ham. The Hammers have several players who can accumulate fouls, such as Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus. After van Hecke was fouled three times last weekend and with the 1+ line at just under even money, I make this one of my best bets on Saturday.

Squawka Betting Tip

All is not well at Brighton and there were chants of ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ from the fans last weekend as they were beaten 4-2 on the road at Brentford. The Seagulls owner, Tony Bloom was in the away end for that game, and after having the highest net spend of any team in the league this season, he will not be happy with the way the season is petering out. Brighton are winless in their last five league outings (D2 L3), and although West Ham are in equally uninspiring form, I simply cannot be going anywhere near the hosts, who are priced incredibly short at just 8/13 to win the match. West Ham put in a strong showing on the road at Liverpool two weeks ago and were unlucky not to take a point. At 15/2, they look worth a few quid in the Win and Both Teams to Score market here.

Alex Iwobi has been a standout performer for Fulham in the 2024/25 Premier League season, showcasing his attacking prowess and consistency. The 28-year-old has scored an impressive nine league goals this season in 31 appearances. That ratio straight away gives appeal to the 16/5 that is on offer for him to score on Saturday, but then consider he has scored in two of his last three and he is facing basement-dwellers Southampton, and this looks a great bet.

Squawka Betting Tip

No Southampton player has been shown more cards in the Premier League this season than Flynn Downes. The midfielder has racked up ten cautions in just 22 appearances, picking up a booking in 45% of his outings. Odds of 3/1 are available for his 11th card of the campaign in this fixture, and with an implied probability of 25% against a hit rate of 45%, I make this a value selection.

Eintracht Frankfurt have not convinced in recent weeks with only one win in their last five games and no goals scored in their last two outings. They should get on the scoresheet in this contest between the third and fourth-placed teams in Germany but Leipzig are capable of drawing level on points with their rivals with their third win over Frankfurt this season.

Arsenal showed their class against Real Madrid in the quarter finals and with the return to fitness of Bukayo Saka, they can take an advantage into the second leg in France. 2026 World Cup Qualifying story so far

As always, CONMEBOL qualifying is in a single round-robin stage with all 10 teams playing each other twice. The top six now go straight to the World Cup with seventh making the inter-confederation play-offs — only three are automatically eliminated. We’re already six games into the group and Argentina are leading the way with five wins, only losing to second-placed Uruguay.

But the story of the campaign so far is Brazil. The record world champions are sixth right now having won just two of their six games, with three defeats. They have lost to Uruguay, Colombia and Argentina, the latter handing them their first ever home qualifying defeat. It’s now four without a win for Brazil and while they are still likely to qualify, it’s not looking good right now.

In AFC qualifying, we’ve already seen some countries’ World Cup hopes come to an end in the first round, though obviously no big name have entered or fallen. But another chance has passed for teams such as Maldives, Sri Lanka and Cambodia. Now in the second round, the likes of Japan, Iran, Australia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have all entered the group stage format. Split into nine groups of four, the top two from each then enter the third round of qualifying.

CAF is often seen as the hardest qualification campaigns given the number of high quality teams in proportion to the low places on offer. This time around with the expanded tournament, nine African nations will directly qualify for the World Cup. Those will be the nine group winner, with the four best second-placed teams playing for the chance to be the CAF representative in the inter-confederation play-offs. At the moment, the likes of Nigeria and Ghana are currently outside the qualifying spots among the big nations, but there are still eight games left to play.

Today’s World Cup Qualifying tips

Not only do we add a tips box for every game which you will find above ahead of each round of World Cup fixtures, but we also produce special betting previews on games involving the biggest nations where possible.

Our betting previews include our tips, of course, but they also include the odds from a host of different bookmakers, our key stats ahead of the fixture, the predictions of our expert writers and a look back at previous meetings between the two nations.

World Cup Qualifying In-Play betting tips

In-play betting has become more and more popular by the year. A lot of punters will be watching each and every game live as it unfolds, giving ample opportunity for some in-play betting.

That means you’ll be able to place bets based on how the game is playing out before your eyes, whether you fancy that minnow nation to nick an unlikely equaliser, or the big man up front is looking dangerous from set-pieces and you want to back him to score the next goal.

And what’s more, with most bookmakers also offering cash out on bets, you can react to the action to cash out for a portion of your potential winnings before the game is over.

Full-time results

The most popular market on any sportsbook, a full-time result bet is as simple as it sounds – you’re betting on the eventual outcome of the game.

The beauty of the World Cup sees some of the greatest players and teams in the international game go head-to-head and whichever way you see the game heading, you can bet on the outcome with the full-time results market.

You can even bet on which team will win each half or be leading at a certain point. There are also correct score markets, where you can bet on the exact result at full-time, or indeed half-time.

To score and win tips

You might get more value on those short-price odds for the favourites by combining your team to win tip with a goalscorer tip!

Of course, there are plenty of goalscoring markets available regardless, including first scorer, any time scorer, last scorer, to score two or more and many others.

Both teams to score

Exactly what it says on the tin – both teams must score in the 90 minutes for your bet to come in.

These are particularly popular bets to place as multiples, when you’re betting on for example four games and essentially eight different teams to score. Easy pickings with some of the attacking talent set to be on show!

Over 2.5 goals

Similar to the BTTS market, in these markets you’re betting on more than two goals to be scored in the game, which can be particularly popular if you’re expecting a thumping win for one side – or if you’re backing both teams to be on the scoresheet a lot.

Of course, you can also bet on Under 2.5 goals if you’re expecting a lower-scoring game, or you can change the parameters to bet on Under or Over 1.5, 3.5 or 4.5 goals and more.

Double chance

Think the bookies have got the odds all wrong and fancy those underdogs to get the better of their more illustrious opponents?

The double chance bet is perfect for this kind of hunch, as it allows you simply to bet on a team not to lose, giving you both the victory on your chosen team and the draw within the odds.

Player total shots

Obviously, here at Squawka Bet, we are keen on the player stat bets and at the World Cup, you can expect a deluge of stats and analysis to best inform you for these types of bets

One such market is the Player total shots market, where you can bet on how many attempts at goal a player will take during the match.

You can also bet on team shots, or player shots on target. Bet365 are one of the bookmakers to offer odds in these types of markets on the biggest games.

Player total tackles

Which players will rack up the most amount of total tackles, you ask? Well, we’ll have tips for these markets too, based on how many tackles players have won in their domestic leagues and continental competitions. Looking around the domestic leagues of Europe, players like Cristian Romero of Argentina, Marcelo Brozovic of Croatia and Casemiro of Brazil will be worth watching in this particular market.

Bookings

With passions and tensions always likely to be running high at the World Cup when teams are fighting for their nation’s hopes, expect cards to feature in almost every game.

There are plenty of markets available here, from total bookings, overs and under markets and which team will pick up the first booking in a game. Plus, you can even bet on whether a specific match will feature a red card.

There are also markets available on specific players to be carded or even sent off in a game.

Corners taken

Most bookmakers now offer bet-builder style markets where you can combine different bets from corners, cards, goals and result markets to create a specific, bespoke bet on the game.

But corner markets are worth backing themselves and you can bet on a certain amount of corners in the game, overs and unders markets, team specific amounts and who will win the first corner among other bets.

World Cup 2026 price boosts

It would be foolish not to take advantage of the excellent price boosts, new customer offers and specials available on World Cup qualifying – and the tournament itself.

With some bookmakers such as Sky Bet, you’ll find a raft of boosted prices on every single game once the main tournament itself kicks off.

World Cup Qualifying accumulators

The accumulator markets are perhaps best utilised over days where there are multiple matches, the World Cup is perfect for such a bet.

BTTS and Win-Draw-Win accumulators are most popular when it comes to accas, but you can mix and match with different markets from different matches if you so desire.

The possibilities are almost endless!

Best bookmakers for World Cup Qualifying
