Arsenal vs Man Utd latest prediction

Arsenal drew the opening game of their preseason tour of the United States 1-1 against Bournemouth. Fábio Vieira sent Mikel Arteta’s side ahead in the 18th minute of the contest, but the Cherries were back on level terms in the 73rd minute through Antoine Semenyo, meaning the game went to penalties, which a youthful Gunners team won 5-4. This will be the penultimate game of Arsenal’s Stateside tour, with a showdown against Liverpool soon to follow before heading back to England for friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon.

It’s been a quiet summer for last season’s Premier League runners-up thus far, with David Raya’s arrival permanently from Brentford proving to be their major piece of business, but the next few weeks are expected to be busy on the transfer front.

Arsenal take on Man Utd at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California on Sunday at 1am (UK time).

Erik ten Hag’s team has already faced two solid tests before the new season. A young squad lost 1-0 to Rosenborg and then won 2-0 against Glasgow Rangers before travelling across the pond. The team is now gearing up for three matches in the United States against Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool before returning to England for the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 10th.

United will start their 2024-25 Premier League season against Fulham six days later, under significant pressure to improve their eighth-place finish in 2023/24. So far, Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro have joined from Bologna and Lille, respectively, but the 20-time English champions are currently working on several other deals to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season further.

Arsenal latest team news

Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leandro Trossard, Ben White, Martin Ødegaard, Jorginho, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Jesus, and Reiss Nelson have all featured so far in preseason as Arsenal ramps up its preparations for another Premier League title push.

The club still awaits the return of Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka, Raya, and William Saliba from their summer break. However, Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz are set to link up with the squad ahead of this match, so there is a slight chance they could be involved against Man Utd.

Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu are not in the squad due to injuries. Karl Hein is again set to be given the nod in goal with Raya and Aaron Ramsdale on their break from summer international duty. Meanwhile, Emile Smith Rowe is unlikely to be involved as the attacker is thought to be closing in on a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Man Utd latest team news

New signing Leny Yoro is expected to be in the Red Devils’ starting eleven for the upcoming match after making his unofficial debut against Rangers.

Christian Eriksen, Rasmus Højlund, and Scott McTominay have made the USA trip despite participating in Euro 2024. However, Tyrell Malacia is still sidelined due to injury. Meanwhile, Altay Bayındır, Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martínez, Facundo Pellistri, and Luke Shaw are still on holiday after their summer international duties.

Joshua Zirkzee will not be available as he will join his new teammates after the team’s tour.

Amad Diallo is expected to maintain his spot in the team following an impressive performance against Rangers. Casemiro, Mason Mount, Højlund, and Marcus Rashford will also likely feature in the starting lineup. Jadon Sancho, who has reconciled with Ten Hag, could also be included in the XI for the upcoming friendly match.
