*Odds correct as of 21:30 on August 12

With Julen Lopetegui departing just days before the start of the season, it’s hardly been an ideal summer at Molineux. A Wolves team already tipped to struggle will now have to battle that much harder, but they have appointed a new head coach in Gary O’Neil that performed miracles to keep Bournemouth up last season, so fans can still hold on to some small sense of optimism. Especially given their excellent opening performance at Old Trafford on Monday, even if they did eventually fall to an undeserved 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.

However, it’s tough to see them winning their second game — even at home — against a Brighton side that secured European football for the first time last season, playing some beautiful football while doing so. Yes, the Seagulls have had plenty of change to their playing squad over the summer, but you’d back Roberto De Zerbi to get a tune out of whatever XI he fields this season and he proved that in a 4-1 opening-day win over newly-promoted Luton Town.

Wolves vs Brighton match tip

First half to be the highest-scoring half @ 23/10 with Paddy Power

As mentioned above, the two meetings between these two teams last season produced a whopping 11 goals. However, did you know that eight of those goals came in the first half? In fact, Brighton proved to be first-45 experts, with only Man City (47), Arsenal (41) and Liverpool (36) scoring more goals in the first half of Premier League matches than them (34).

Wolves vs Brighton Bet-Builder tip

BTTS, Over 2.5 Goals & Brighton/Draw

It’s safe to say we’re expecting goals in this one. We’re also expecting a Brighton win not only because of the comparative strength of the two teams, but also the fact that the Seagulls have beaten the Midlands side in each of their last three meetings — and quite comfortably so on two occasions.
