Bournemouth are without a win in their last six matches against West Ham across all competitions. Both Premier League matches last season finished level, with a pair of 1-1 draws.

Niclas Füllkrug to score anytime (7/4 with Bet365)

Niclas Fullkrug should be handed his first West Ham start and will be desperate to get one the scoresheet. He is the only German player to score 25+ goals in Europe’s top five leagues across the last two seasons.

How to watch West Ham vs Bournemouth live

West Ham vs Bournemouth  is scheduled for 7:45pm on Wednesday 28th August and will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports+.

How both teams go into West Ham vs Bournemouth

After an opening day defeat to Aston Villa, West Ham finally got their season underway with a 2-0 away win against Crystal Palace at the weekend. The win ended a run of 19 games without a clean sheet in the Premier League. Goals from Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen were enough to get them over the line, with their attention now turning to a cup run.

After reaching the quarter-final stage of this competition last term, West Ham will be hoping to go at least one step further this time around and make it to the semi-final stage for the first time since 2014. That is a long way off, however, and first they must overcome a Bournemouth side that are without a win in their previous six matches against the Hammers.

The Cherries have started 2024/25 with consecutive 1-1 draws against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle. However, they will be disappointed not to take all three points last time out, after Dango Ouattara’s late winner was ruled out by VAR for offside. The London Stadium is a tough place to come to try and get your first win of the season, especially in the EFL Cup. This is a competition in which Bournemouth haven’t made it past the fourth round in any of the previous five seasons.

West Ham host Bournemouth at the London Stadium on Wednesday 28th August at 7:45pm.

West Ham team news

Julen Lopetegui has a fully fit squad to choose from for the visit of Bournemouth, but may rest of his most important players. Expect summer signings Niclas Fullkrug, Jean-Clair Todibo, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Crysencio Summerville all to be handed their first starts for the club.

Bournemouth team news

The Cherries will once again be without David Brooks, Tyler Adams and Enes Unal. Evanilson should lead the line once more, while teenage centre-back Dean Huijsen could also come in.

West Ham vs Bournemouth head-to-head

West Ham are unbeaten in their last six games against Bournemouth across all competitions, but both Premier League meetings last season finished as a draw.
