West Ham vs Brighton match tip
What a signing Mohammed Kudus has been for West Ham. The forward has scored more home goals in all competitions than any other West Ham player so far this season (9) and is looking to become the first player to score 10+ home goals in their first season with the Hammers since Teddy Sheringham in 2004/05. With four goals in his last five games, he will be looking to sign off in style before he heads out to take part in the African Cup of Nations for Ghana – if he is allowed to stay.

West Ham vs Brighton odds
*Odds correct as of 07:00 on January 2
Despite a blip that saw them lose 5-0 to Fulham, West Ham have been on a fine run in the Premier League. A 2-0 win over Arsenal in midweek made it three straight wins without conceding in the league and six wins from their last eight (one draw), as David Moyes won his first-ever away game against Arsenal during his managerial career. The result, which also ended Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the season at home, moved West Ham up to sixth, just seven points off the Champions League places. And after Arsenal lost again at the weekend, West Ham have a chance to further cut that gap to just four points.
Brighton, meanwhile, picked up just their third Premier League victory since the start of October with a fine performance in a 4-2 win over Tottenham at the Amex. The Seagulls’ failure to turn draws into wins (six draws in their last 12 league matches) meant they had dropped away from the European places, but that victory put them within just six points of Tottenham in fifth. Conceding twice late on against Tottenham means Roberto De Zerbi’s side are still without a clean sheet so far this season, which will be a huge worry for the Italian. And the pressure is back on with Tottenham extending the gap to nine points again. But victory here would lift Brighton up to sixth, ahead of West Ham and Manchester United.
