Southampton, meanwhile, are hoping to reach the fifth round of the FA Cup for the fourth season running. That run started in 2020/21 when they made it to the semi-final, before losing to eventual winners Chelsea. But, it’s been a weird pattern of regression. The following year, Southampton were beaten in the quarter-finals by Manchester City, before losing in the fifth round to League Two side Grimsby Town last year.
