Tottenham vs Man United
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United meet in an enticing EFL Cup quarter-final at Thursday 19th December at 8pm.
The pair have already faced off in the league this season, with Tottenham winning 3-0 at Old Trafford. But that was when Erik ten Hag was in charge. Ruben Amorim’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports Football.

How both teams go into Tottenham vs Man United
At the heart of the busy festive fixture period, the Premier League takes a break for the EFL Cup. We’re at the quarter-final stage and it’s an all-Premier League affair. But this is the biggest game — and most evenly-matched — by some distance. Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to take a step closer to his first trophy as Tottenham manager, after stating that he always wins something in his second season at a club. Tottenham could have bowed out at the first time of asking, needing a very late comeback to beat Coventry City in the third round. They then knocked Manchester City out in the fourth round to book their quarter-final spot.
This will be Amorim’s first introduction to cup football in England. He’ll also be the third manager to oversee an EFL Cup game for Man United this season. Under Erik ten Hag, Man United beat Barnsley 7-0 in the third round. Ruud van Nistelrooy was in the dugout for the Red Devils’ win over Leicester City last time out.
Tottenham team news
Guglielmo Vicario and Richarlison remain long-term absentees alongside Wilson Odobert. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ben remain out. Ben Davies will still require further checks, but Heung-Min Son could play a part. Rodrigo Bentancur’s suspension also applies to the EFL Cup, so he will miss out here.
Man United team news
Mason Mount and Luke Shaw are the only absentees for Man United right now but there are doubts over Noussair Mazraoui.
Tottenham vs Man United head-to-head
Tottenham are now unbeaten in their past four games against Man United, since a run of four consecutive defeats. Postecoglou has won two of his three games against Man United as Tottenham Manager.
