How both teams go into Tottenham vs Leicester

Tottenham’s season is starting to look like one to forget unless they can quickly turn things around. After their first 20 league matches, they sit in 12th place, just eight points above the relegation zone. As of now, the Lilywhites are on a four-game winless streak, with three losses and one draw. More concerning is the fact that they’ve won only one of their last eight Premier League matches, suffering five losses and two draws during that stretch. Additionally, Spurs have not won any of their last six home Premier League games, recording four losses and two draws. It has been ten matches since they last kept a clean sheet at home.

Meanwhile, Leicester City, back in the Premier League after a season away, have had a terrible start and currently find themselves second from bottom, two points adrift of safety. After sacking Steve Cooper and replacing him with former Manchester United interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, the situation has worsened. Despite collecting four points from their first six under Van Nistelrooy, the Foxes have now lost five consecutive matches. Following a 3-2 victory against fellow promoted side Southampton, they drew against another new team, Ipswich, but have since lost five matches in a row, failing to score in two of those away games.

Tottenham team news

Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie are long-term absentees for Tottenham. Rodrigo Bentancur, Ben Davies, Cristian Romero, and Micky van de Ven may return for this match. However, there is no return date for Wilson Odobert.

Leicester team news

Issahaku Fatawu will be unavailable for Leicester City until the next season. Wilfred Ndidi is also sidelined, while Mads Hermansen may make a return soon. However, there is currently no timeline for Ricardo Pereira’s comeback.

Tottenham vs Leicester head-to-head

Tottenham, following a streak of four consecutive victories, have not secured a win in their last two encounters with Leicester (one loss and one draw).
