So much on the line

This is a derby both sets of fans will look forward to and dread in equal measures. There aren’t many times for a derby better than near the end of the season when a lot is on the line.

For Arsenal, it’s their title hopes. The Gunners go into this game one point clear at the top of the Premier League table, though they have played one game more than second-placed Manchester City. After losing 2-0 to Aston Villa, Arsenal bounced back emphatically.

Despite playing with tiredness following their Champions League exit, Arsenal were professional in their 2-0 win over Wolves, putting in a performance of champions. Then the Gunners thrashed Chelsea 5-0 at the Emirates, putting down all talk of falling away. But this is another big test.

Tottenham haven’t played in almost two weeks, which has allowed Aston Villa to move six points clear in the race for the top four. Although Tottenham do have two games in hand, they come against Chelsea and Manchester City.

The run-in is tough for Tottenham, and they are in indifferent form. Ange Postecoglou’s side have won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six Premier League games, beaten 4-0 by Newcastle in their most recent outing.
