One of two fifth-tier clubs competing in this season’s FA Cup third round, Tamworth will be making their fourth appearance at this stage, but they have never progressed further. They were eliminated by Stoke City in 2006 (after a penalty shootout), Norwich City in 2007, and Everton in 2012. This season, Tamworth has already knocked out Huddersfield Town and Burton Albion, both of whom play in League One.

Since their last FA Cup triumph in 1991, Tottenham has been eliminated from the third round on seven occasions, but never by a club below the second tier. Their most recent such exit occurred in 2014 when Arsenal proved too strong. On that occasion, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado led Spurs’ attack, while Harry Kane remained an unused substitute.
