Three predictions for Sunderland vs Burnley
Sunderland 1-2 Burnley (17/2 with BetGoodwin)
The Clarets have started the campaign on fire, scoring nine goals and conceding just once in their opening two games. They face a much tougher test against a Sunderland side who are also two wins from two, but should have too much for the home side.
The home side has failed to win in five of the last six meetings between these two teams, including the previous four.
Josh Brownhill First Goalscorer (16/1 with Bet365)
Josh Brownhill has found his goalscoring touch. The Burnley midfielder has scored in each of the first two Championship matches this season, including the first goal of the game against Luton on the opening day.
Over 2.5 Goals (10/11 with BetMGM)
Burnley have scored nine goals in their opening two matches when the followed up their opening day 4-1 victory over Luton with a 5-0 thrashing of Cardiff at Turf Moor. Sunderland, meanwhile go into this game on the back of a 4-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

How both teams go into Sunderland vs Burnley
Two of the three sides to win each of their opening two matches in the Championship go head-to-head on Saturday.
After following a 4-1 victory over Luton on the opening day with a 5-0 home win against Cardiff last time out, Burnley enter the weekend top of the Championship table on goal difference. The Clarets, now under Scott Parker, have looked incredibly impressive so far despite losing Arijanet Muric to Ipswich, Wilson Odobert to Tottenham and Sander Berge to Fulham, as the former Bournemouth and Fulham manager looks to add another promotion to his CV.
They travel to the Stadium of Light looking to make it three wins from three, but know it won’t be easy against a Sunderland team who have also started well.
Regis Le Bris’s time in the North East has been perfect, in the league at least. First the Black Cats began with a 2-0 win away at Cardiff before dispatching Sheffield Wednesday 4-0 after themselves had started their campaign with a 4-0 victory over Plymouth. They are the only side not to concede a single goal in the opening two matches, but that run looks set to end against free-scoring Burnley this weekend.
Sunderland host Burnley at the Stadium of Light on Saturday 24th August at 3pm (UK time).
Sunderland team news
Ian Proveda remains a doubt for the home side, but Alan Browne, Dan Ballard and Jenson Seelt will play no part. Teenage striker Eliezer Mayenda scored twice last time out against Sheffield Wednesday and should lead the line once again.
Possible Sunderland XI: Patterson; Hume, O’Nien, Alese, Cirkin; Bellingham, Neil, Rigg; Roberts, Mayenda, Clarke.
Burnley team news
Nathan Redmond, Aaron Ramsey and Mike Tresor all remain out, while Sander Berge looks set to follow Wilson Odobert in a move to the Premier League. Zeki Amdouni came off the bench to score against Cardiff and will be hoping for a place in the starting XI with Jay Rodriguez the most likely to move aside.
Possible Burnley XI: Hladky; Roberts, Esteve, O’Shea, Pires; Vitinho, Brownhill, Cullen, Koleosho; Amdouni, Foster.
Sunderland vs Burnley head-to-head
The home side have failed to win in five of the last six meetings between the two sides, including the last four.
