Spain vs Germany latest prediction
Hosts Germany are still on their run to what would be a dream final at Euro 2024. Die Mannschaft were bit of an unknown entity going into this tournament, which is strange to say given their stature. But they hadn’t played competitive football for a while and had struggled in some of their friendlies.
However, they found form at the right time and finally look to be clicking under Julian Nagelsmann. Germany won their opening two games at Euro 2024 against Scotland and Hungary, scoring seven goals and conceded just one. And even that one was an own goal from Antonio Rudiger against Scotland with Germany already four goals to the good. They did need a very late equaliser against Switzerland to secure top spot, but that has put them on this tough path. In the last 16, Germany beat Denmark 2-0 in what was a hard-fought victory.
Spain, meanwhile, went perfect in the group stage and will no doubt be many people’s favourites to win Euro 2024. However, the draw is the one thing counting against them. La Roja won all three of their group stage games without conceding a goal, beating Croatia, Italy and Albania.
They became just the second team to win all three group stage games without conceding, after Italy en route to winning the trophy at Euro 2020. Spain did finally concede in the last 16 but it was a Spaniard who put the ball into their own net. Robin Le Normand was the unfortunate man to get the own goal, though Spain bounced back to beat Georgia 4-1 and set up this thriller.
Spain vs Germany is set for 5pm on Friday 5th July with the game being played at the MHPArena in Stuttgart.
Jamal Musiala rounded off the scoring in Germany’s 2-0 win over Denmark, continuing his impressive run at the tournament. The Bayern Munich midfielder has now scored in three of Germany’s four matches at Euro 2024 so far, netting three goals. Only one player has scored more goals in a single edition of the European Championship while aged 21 or under, with that being Wayne Rooney at Euro 2024.

Spain latest team news
Luis de la Fuente has a favourite starting XI and it’s clear for everyone to see. Eleven players have started three of the four games, with Aymeric Laporte coming in from the second match. The remaining 10 were rested for the game against Albania, with Spain already securing top spot.
But all 10 returned to join Laporte in the starting XI to face Georgia. And we’d expect Spain to line up with that XI against Germany. That means the front three will remain Alvaro Morata flanked by Inaki Williams and Lamine Yamal.
Dani Carvajal, Le Normand, Morata and Daniel Vivian are all at risk of suspension if they’re booked in this game.
Germany latest team news
Julian Nagelsmann made three changes between the team that drew with Switzerland and the one that started the win over Denmark. Jonathan Tah’s absence was forced due to suspension, with Nico Schlotterbeck coming in, but David Raum replaced Maximilian Mittelstadt at left-back and the big call was Leroy Sane over Florian Wirtz. Dropping one of his wonderkids from the XI was bold but it paid off as Sane caused problems for Denmark.
While you’d expect Tah to come back in over Schlotterback, Wirtz may have to settle for a substitute role again. Mittelstadt, Rudiger and Robert Andrich are all at risk of suspension.
Spain vs Germany head-to-head
Spain are unbeaten in their past four games against Germany, including a 6-0 thrashing in the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League group stage. However, the other three games have all been drawn with the last meeting being in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup.
