Spain vs England latest prediction
La Roja have been the only team at Euro 2024 to maintain a perfect record so far, winning all six of their games to reach a third final in the last five editions of the tournament. That’s an incredible run given they’ve faced the likes of Croatia, Italy, Germany and France so far in a sequence that has left them just one more victory away from a record-breaking fourth European Championship crown. Spain have played with style and grace and are armed to the teeth with exciting forwards and midfield dynamos. As such, their form in Germany this summer makes them favourites for the final.
However, Spain will not be underestimating England in Berlin on Sunday. The Three Lions have had to grind it out at Euro 2024 at times, needing late goals, extra time and penalties to get them to this stage. England come into the final off the back of their best performance of the tournament so far in their 2-1 semi-final win over the Netherlands, but even that required a comeback from an early Xavi Simons strike and a last-minute Ollie Watkins winner that will go down in folklore regardless of what happens this Sunday. You can question the performances, but the heart and spirit of this England side are in no doubt, while Gareth Southgate must get the credit he’s due for making impactful substitutes, game after game.
It’s been 58 long years since England won the 1966 World Cup. During his tenure, Southgate has treated supporters to more semi-finals and finals than ever. Now, it’s time to go one step further.

Spain latest team news
Spain were without the suspended Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand against France, with Jesus Navas and Nacho Fernandez covering. However, both will return and should return to the starting XI here. Dani Olmo has scored in every knockout game so far and has three goals and two assists to his name at the tournament so far. He should start in the attacking midfield role regardless of Pedri’s fitness for the final, given how influential he’s been.
There were fears that Alvaro Morata would miss the final after a collision with a security guard after Tuesday’s semi-final, but the Atletico Madrid striker will be fit to play.
England latest team news
England’s switch to three-at-the-back inspired some much more fluid performances in the last two games and the clash with the Netherlands last time out was by far their best showing of the tournament. The starting XI should stay mostly the same, with Harry Kane retaining his spot despite Watkins’ heroics, with Southgate likely viewing the Aston Villa man as an impact sub once again if needed. The only change could see Luke Shaw start at left wing-back ahead of Kieran Trippier, which was the change made at half-time during the semi-final.
Shaw, who began Euro 2024 on the sidelines while continuing to regain full fitness, has been praised by fellow full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“Huge player for us,” he told the official England YouTube channel. “Obviously he came with a little bit of doubt as to whether, when he is going to be fit, etc.
“He has been on the pitch and delivered for us. He has been really, really good. He is a massive addition to the squad and someone who helped us the other day win the game. Incredible.”
