Spain vs Denmark prediction, stats, tips & team news

Spain will be hoping to take control of their Uefa Nations League group when they host Denmark on Saturday 12th October.

La Roja have taken four points from their first two games, while Denmark are perfect so far.

Spain to win and BTTS (9/4 with SBK)

Since a 1-0 defeat to Colombia at the start of 2024, Spain have won nine of their 12 matches across all competitions. The three draws do also include an extra-time win over Germany at Euro 2024, which will have settled as a draw for betting purposes. But Spain have conceded in five of their past six matches.

Both teams to score in the second half (11/4 with SBK)

Denmark’s two games in the Uefa Nations League so far have seen four goals scored. Of those four goals, three have come in the second half of their matches.

As well as being defending European champions, Spain are also the holders of the Uefa Nations League. Having been beaten finalists in 2020-21, Spain bounced back last summer with a penalty-shootout victory over Croatia. The only team with back-to-back final appearances, Spain will be hoping to become the first team to win the Uefa Nations League in consecutive campaigns.

They have a good chance of reaching the final too. A slight change in format sees the top two of each League A group qualify for the quarter-finals, instead of just the group winners making the semi-finals. The group winners will face a group runner-up, so finishing top would be ideal.

Spain aren’t top at the moment, but they know a victory here will put them in control. La Roja were held to a goalless draw by Serbia in their opening Uefa Nations League game. They bounced back to beat Switzerland 4-1 in their next game.

Denmark lead the group after two matches, with two wins so far. They left it late to beat Switzerland, who ended the game with nine men in their opener. There was another 2-0 against Serbia last time out, with a goal in each half.

Spain host Denmark at the Nueva Condomina in Murcia on Saturday 12th October at 7:45pm.

Spain team news

Alvaro Morata is in the Spain squad having missed the September international break due to suspension. Of course, Spain will be without Rodri who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury. Dani Olmo also misses out, having missed Barcelona’s past four matches due to injury.

Denmark team news

Mathias Jensen doesn’t return from injury in time for this break, with him not being risked. Matt O’Riley still hasn’t played this season due to injury and won’t feature.

Spain vs Denmark head-to-head

Although Spain and Denmark have faced off 16 times across all competitions, this will be their first meeting since 2008. Spain have won 12 of those 16 games, including each of the past four. Denmark’s two victories have come in 1979 and 1993 respectively.
