Leicester City will be looking to build on their first Premier League win of the season when they face Southampton on Saturday.
Both teams managed to achieve promotion from the Championship last season, but have suffered contrasting fortunes in the opening weeks of the Premier League season.
The Foxes have taken six points from their opening seven games of the new campaign to sit 15th. Southampton, meanwhile, have lost six of their seven matches with one draw leaving them in the relegation zone.

How both teams go into Southampton vs Leicester
It’s not been a fun return to the Premier League for either of these two sides. Leicester were promoted from the Championship as title winners, but they were pre-season favourites to be relegated. And it was a rough start. Steve Cooper’s men did get a point in their opening game against Tottenham Hotspur, but followed that up with consecutive defeats.
Two more draws and a defeat followed, with Leicester losing to Arsenal having come from 2-0 down and looking close to a point — eventually losing 4-2. The first win did come before the international break, however, as Leicester secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Bournemouth.
Southampton have been suffering even more. Russell Martin’s men are yet to get up and running in the Premier League this season, with just one point to their name. They have the worst attack in the Premier League, scoring four goals, and the second worst defence with 15 conceded.
Saints’ only point has come against another newly-promoted side in Ipswich Town. That draw came in their fifth game, but Southampton haven’t been able to build on it with two defeats since.

Will Smallbone could be back from injury after the international break, with Kamaldeen Sulemana also possibly returning. Jack Stephens is still suspended, having been handed a further two-match ban for “abusive and insulting language” after his red card against Manchester United. Gavin Bazunu and Ross Stewart are definitely out.

Leicester will hope to have Jannik Vestergaard available after he missed the past four league games through injury. Patson Daka’s return is getting closer, but he’s still a few weeks away. Hamza Choudhury looks set to be out for a while after dislocating his shoulder, with Jakub Stolarczyk also long-term injured.
