Heading into this weekend, Sheffield United find themselves in 18th, having picked up just five points from their opening 12 games since their promotion back to the top flight. The newcomers have tasted just one victory so far this campaign, while also falling to no fewer than nine defeats. Paul Heckingbottom’s men played out a 1-1 draw at Brighton last time out which extended their unbeaten run to two matches after their debut win of the campaign against Wolves the week before. They are looking to go three without loss in the top flight for the first time since July 2020.

As for Bournemouth, they ran out 2-0 winners over Newcastle before the international break, which saw them return to successful ways following a humbling 6-1 at Manchester City earlier in the month. The Cherries now sit two places and four points above the relegation zone with six of their nine points this campaign coming in their last three matches.

However, Bournemouth are without a win away from home so far this term, losing four of their five matches on the road and picking up just one point – a 2-2 draw against Brentford at the start of September. The 17 away goals they have conceded in the most in the division in 2023/24, while no side has conceded more away goals in the Premier League since the start of last season (60).

Both sides have struggled to score goals so far this campaign, netting just 21 goals between them, but when you look at the numbers, it’s Bournemouth who should have more, under performing their xG by 3.01. The Cherries have been good at hitting the target, boasting the 7th highest shot accuracy in the division (50.98%), but have struggled to convert their chances as they sit as one of just five sides to have a chance conversion rate of under 8% alongside Fulham, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Luton Town.

Sheffield United vs Bournemouth match tip

Over 2.5 goals @ 5/6 with QuinnBet

This match sees the side that has conceded the most away goals in the Premier League this season (16) come up against the team that has conceded the second most at home (16). Infact, the Cherries have conceded more away goals in the Premier League than any other side since the start of last season (60), conceding at least two goals in 18 games, including all five this season.

Two more goals conceded here, would see Bournemouth become just the fourth side to concede 2+ goals in each of their first six away games in a single campaign after Derby County (2000/01), Leeds United (2003/04) and Burnley (2009/11).
