Serbia vs Hungary odds
With an odd number of teams, Group G sees one nation miss out every matchweek, which means not everyone has played the same amount of games. However, that hasn’t stopped Hungary and Serbia from sitting in the top two. Hungary are currently top of the group with seven points from their opening three games, three points clear of third-placed Montenegro and still unbeaten. After sitting out the first gameweek, Hungary opened their qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win over Bulgaria before drawing against Montenegro. But they bounced back from the stalemate with a 2-0 victory against Lithuania, which has them ahead of Serbia.
Second-placed Serbia have also won seven points from their first three games and are only behind Hungary on goal difference, but head-to-head will be the first tiebreak come the end of the group. So it’s all to play for here. Serbia started their qualifying campaign with back-to-back 2-0 wins, beating Lithuania and Montenegro, before sitting out the third gameweek. Their return in June wasn’t ideal as they needed Darko Lazovic’s 96th-minute equaliser to rescue a point against Bulgaria, which allowed Hungary to leapfrog them.

Serbia vs Hungary match tip
Serbia to win the 2nd half at 6/5 with Betway
This is certain to be a tight battle between two very even nations, but Serbia will be hoping to use their second-half strength to get them over the line. Four of Serbia’s five goals have come in the second half of their matches, while Hungary have scored four of their five before half-time.
Serbia vs Hungary Bet-Builder tip
Dusan Vlahovic to score anytime, Serbia to win & BTTS
Just one player in Group G has scored more than one goal in qualifying and that’s Serbia’s talisman Dusan Vlahovic. The Juventus forward scored in both of Serbia’s opening games, including a brace against Montenegro, while he has two goals in three games for his club this season. It may be a small sample size, but Hungary may be wary of the fact that their only dropped points in Euro 2024 qualifying came away from home. At the same time, Serbia won their one home match.
Serbia vs Hungary team news
Serbia named a preliminary squad for the international break with the likes of Fulham midfielder Sasa Lukic and Red Bull Salzburg defender Aleksa Terzic not making the final roster. But all the big names are involved including the strike trio of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Vlahovic and Luka Jovic, as well as Dusan Tadic.
Hungary have named six uncapped players in their squad, five of whom play in their native country. Daniel Gazdag has had to pull out due to injury.
