Inconsistent form has Real Madrid in discomfort
Real Madrid are unbeaten in their last 21 league games, winning 16 and drawing five. It’s a record that saw them overtake Girona at the top of the table and command the title race. They remain top of the table, but a bit of inconsistent form means Los Blancos aren’t as comfortable as they could be.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have won just two of their past five league games, after a run of six consecutive victories. They’ve been trading wins with draws, starting with a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid last month. They then beat Girona 4-0 and Sevilla 1-0, but also draw 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano and Valencia. There’s been a pattern to Real Madrid’s results too, with victory followed by draw, and draw by victory. Last time out it was a draw with Valencia, so pattern dictates a win for Real Madrid this weekend. They’ll be hoping it comes too, after another draw in midweek in the Champions League — though their passage to the quarter-finals was secured.
Real Madrid are five points clear of second-placed Barcelona who have already played this weekend, so the gap could increase to eight once again. At the other end of the table, Celta Vigo know that they’ll end the weekend outside the relegation zone. But they’ll be hoping to add a bit more distance from the drop.
With 11 games left to play, Celta Vigo are just five points above the bottom three in what has been a very disappointing season. They’ve managed five wins so far, and 13 defeats, the latter the third-worst in La Liga. What matters for them at the moment is that they are getting points against the teams below them, with a draw against 18th-placed Cadiz and win over bottom-of-the-league Almeria in their past two matches.
Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo match tip
Toni Kroos to score or assist @ 1/1 by Sky Bet
There will be other names high up the list when looking at those set to be amongst the goals on Sunday. But keep an eye out for Toni Kroos. The German has scored six goals in 15 games against Celta Vigo against La Liga, at least twice as many has he has managed against any other side in the competition. On top of those six goals, Kroos has also provided four assists against Celta Vigo.
Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo odds

At the same time, Celta Vigo are winless in their last eight visits to teams from the Madrid region, with three draws and five defeats, since a 3-0 win over Getafe in October 2021.
