The stats behind our PSG vs Borussia Dortmund predictions:

- No player has scored more Champions League goals than Kylian Mbappe (8) this season.
Jadon Sancho vs Kylian Mbappe: Who will lead their team to Wembley?
Jadon Sancho was faltering at Manchester United, but a loan return to Borussia Dortmund has been an inspired choice. The England international has scored three goals and added an assist in 17 appearances across all competitions since re-donning ‘das gelb-schwarze Hemd’, but it’s his overall contributions that have been so impressive.
Sancho has completed more dribbles (22) than any other player in the knockout stages of the Champions League this season. Thirteen of those came in the first leg against PSG; the most by a player in a knockout stage game in the competition since Neymar vs Atalanta in August 2020 (15 for PSG). That’s been the running theme for Sancho, who has averaged 3.98 successful dribbles and 2.1 chances created per 90 minutes in Bundesliga and Champions League play combined for Dortmund this season.
It remains a long shot, but Sancho might well be keeping an eye on Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this summer’s European Championships, played in the familiar surroundings of Germany. However, first will be the attempt to send Dortmund back to Wembley after their 2013 Champions League final loss at the stadium.
On the other side of this match, Kylian Mbappe will be looking to end his time at PSG on a high. The Frenchman will leave the club this summer, with many predicting Real Madrid to be his next destination. There is every chance that Mbappe’s PSG career could end with a Champions League final against Real Madrid — but there’s work to be done first.
A lot has been said about PSG’s failure to win the Champions League so far, only reaching the final once in 2020. But is this their moment? Mbappe sits joint-top of the Champions League goalscoring charts going into the semi-final second legs, with only Harry Kane matching his eight goals this season (excluding qualifiers).
Mbappe has taken more shots (46) and hit the target (24) more times than any other player in the Champions Leaguer this season, while also ranking second for big chances scored. But Mbappe hasn’t just been about scoring this season. Although he is yet to provide an assist, Mbappe has created nine big chances in the Champions League this season, more than any other player, and ranks third for chances created with 24. His Expected Assists tally of 3.5 is second in the Champions League this season, but his xA from open play of 3.48 ranks Mbappe top.
PSG vs Borussia Dortmund match tip
Half-time score 0-0 @ 3.35/1 with BetMGM
Niclas Füllkrug’s goal in the first leg last week came in the 36th minute, but that first-half strike was an exception to the rule. Nine of the 12 goals scored in games between PSG and Dortmund have come in the second half of the matches.
PSG vs Borussia Dortmund odds
PSG are the big favourites for this second leg with home advantage, which in turn makes them the favourites for the entire tie. However, Dortmund have picked up some big away results in recent months against the likes of Bayern Munich and PSV and will fancy their chances of getting the job done.
