How both teams go into Portugal vs Denmark
A goalless draw in Leskovac left Denmark feeling delighted, while Serbia were left frustrated. The result allowed Denmark to join group winners Spain in the quarterfinals. Key saves by Kasper Schmeichel kept the hosts at bay, and Serbia’s chances of finding a breakthrough were further hindered when Strahinja Pavlović was sent off in the 90th minute. Denmark finished second in Group A4 with eight points, eight points behind Spain and two points ahead of Serbia. Switzerland ended up being relegated, finishing at the bottom of the group with just two points.
On the other hand, Portugal was thrilled with their campaign, especially after having failed to qualify for the knockout stages in the last two competitions. Portugal topped Group A1, finishing unbeaten with 14 points from 18 available, thanks to four wins and two draws. They’ve got it all to do, however, having to overturn a 1-0 defeat in the first leg.
Denmark team news
There should be few surprises in the Denmark side, with veteran stars Kasper Schmeichel and Christian Eriksen featuring. Eriksen is currently the active Danish player with the most international goals (43) and appearances (140).

Head coach Roberto Martinez took advantage of the last international break to rest some of Portugal’s star players and to give opportunities to new faces and those who are on the fringes of his first team.
