Sporting CP vs Porto match tip
Porto to win to nil @ 11/2 with Sky Bet
Sporting are the favourites going into this game, but actually they have struggled against Porto in recent meetings. Porto are unbeaten in their last eight games against Sporting across all competitions, with each of the last five ending in a victory for the Dragons. In fact, they have won three of the last four without conceding a goal.
Sporting CP vs Porto Bet-Builder tip
Double Chance: Porto/Draw and Evanilson to score anytime
Even if you don’t fancy Porto for the win, history shines of them at least leaving the Estádio José Alvalade unbeaten. Hoping to get amongst the goals for Porto will be Evanilson, who looks to have recovered from injury issues that plagued the start of his season. The Brazilian has four goals in eight Primeira Liga matches so far, including two in his last two, netting against both Famalicao and Casa Pia.
Porto are unbeaten in their last eight games against Sporting across all competitions
Evanilson is Porto's top scorer in the league this season with four goals in eight games.
Sporting CP vs Porto odds
A clash between the top two sides in Portugal right now, Sporting CP and Porto come into this game level on points. It is the last league game for either before Christmas, so the winner of this match will guarantee the Yuletide top spot. Sporting currently lead the way on goal difference, but they did have a points advantage until recently. Ruben Amorim’s side aren’t in the best of form right now. After going unbeaten in their first 10 games, winning nine, Sporting have now lost two of their last three. First they lost the derby to Benfica, before falling to Vitoria last time out (after a win against Gil Vicente).
That defeat allowed Porto to move level on points, thanks to their run. Having also lost to Benfica, Porto suffered another shock league defeat to Estoril at the start of November, which had them in danger of falling away slightly even at this early stage. But they have bounced back well to win their past three games, capitalising on the poor form of both Sporting and Benfica. Vitoria, Famalicao and Casa Pia have all fallen, despite Porto’s poor form in other competitions — losing to Barcelona in the Champions League and Estoril again in the Allianz Cup over the past few weeks.
