Poland vs Portugal prediction, stats, tips & team news: 6/4 & 17/2 bets for Nations League Clash

Portugal are seeking a third Nations League win on the bounce when they visit Poland.

The host are looking to bounce back after losing to Croatia last time out, while their visitors are perfect following the opening two rounds.

Two Poland vs Portugal predictions

Both Teams To Score & Bruno Fernandes to Committ 1+ Foul (6/4 with Paddy Power)

Portugal won both international outings in September with 2-1 victories over Scotland and Croatia. Roberto Martinez’s men are fancied to get the job done and Poland have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven across all formats.

Poland have a strong home record when it comes to finding the net. They have scored at least one goal in all their last 11 matches across all competitions.

Bruno Fernandes was booked on his most recent international outing and has already been sent off for Manchester United this term. Regarding fouls, he has conceded at least one in all of his last eight for Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo Anytime Assist (17/2 with BetMGM)

Ronaldo may be better known for his goal-scoring prowess, but at 17/2, he simply looks too big a price to record an assist against a Poland side that is far from watertight at the back. Ronaldo managed an assist at the Euros in the summer and has 18 in his international career. Sky Bet go just 7/2, and Paddy Power 4/1 he manages another in this game, so take the 17/2 on show with BetMGM.

How to watch Poland vs Portugal live

Poland vs Portugal is scheduled for 7:45pm on Saturday 12th October and will be shown live on TBC.

How both teams go into Poland vs Portugal

Michał Probierz was undoubtedly let down by Poland’s showing at the European Championship this past summer. The perennial dark horses exited in the group phase with a point to their name. Things picked up with a thrilling Nations League opener against Scotland when Sebastian Szymański and Robert Lewandowski put the visitors into a commanding lead before Napoli duo Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay levelled proceedings, only for Nicola Zalewski to net a 90th-minute winner from the spot. However, they couldn’t back that success up as they fell to a 1-0 loss in Croatia, with Luka Modrić settling the contest.

Following a disappointing Euro 2024 campaign, Portugal retained the services of head coach Roberto Martinez, with Cristiano Ronaldo still available for selection. The inaugural Nations League winners began this latest campaign at home against Croatia, running out 2-1 winners. Diogo Dalot and the aforementioned Ronaldo put the hosts into a commanding lead before a Dalot own goal made things interesting. Ronaldo’s strike was his 900th during an illustrious career. Next time up, Portugal displayed their resilience, coming back from a goal down to beat Scotland, who took an early lead through Scott McTominay before his former Man Utd teammates Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the victory.

Poland host Portugal at National Stadium Warsaw at 7:45pm on Saturday 12th October.

Poland team news

Robert Lewandowski leads a squad missing long-serving pair Kamil Grosicki and Wojciech Szczęsny — both of whom have retired from international duty. Bologna’s Łukasz Skorupski will continue in goal, while Piotr Zieliński should feature in midfield despite being sidelined at new club Inter Milan.

Portugal team news

Roberto Martínez has yet to name his Portugal squad, but last time out, he selected youngsters Geovany Quenda, Renato Veiga, and Tiago Santos for the first time and dropped João Cancelo, Danilo Pereira, and Francisco Conceição.

Poland vs Portugal head-to-head
