Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham

Nottingham Forest will host Tottenham in a Premier League showdown on Boxing Day. The game can be seen live on Amazon Prime Video and we’ve drafted in Anthony Eadson to provide us with his prediction and best bets.

Dejan Kulusevski to Score Anytime (4/1 with BoyleSports)

Nottingham Forest look a little short in the betting to win this game at 13/10, and with a lack of trust in Spurs I’ve opted to swerve the match result. One thing that has been certain with Spurs of late is that their games are incredibly high-scoring. Over their last five matches, 30 goals have been scored, with nine of those coming in the 6-3 defeat to Liverpool last Sunday.

Couple this goals-angle, with the fact that Boxing Day has historically been a goal-laden day in the football calendar, and you can see why I’ve taken a lean towards two anytime goalscorers.

The first of those is Dejan Kulusevski, who has been one of the best players in the league this season, and has become somewhat of a cashcow for punters in the last few weeks. The Spurs attacker has scored in all of his last five matches, with goals against Chelsea, Rangers, Southampton, Man United and Liverpool. At 4/1 with BoyleSports I feel this is a price that cannot be ignored.

Nikola Milenkovic to Score Anytime (12/1 with Sky Bet)

Spurs are going through yet another injury-riddled campaign. Both Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are out for this game and I think Forest can take advantage. The hosts rank joint-second in the Premier League for goals scored from set-pieces this season (7), with only Arsenal managing more (9).

Spurs on the other hand struggle from set-pieces and I think centre-back Nikola Milenkovic up against Archie Gray and Radu Dragusin, could be a match-up we can profit from. The Serbian has scored against Man United and Aston Villa in December and has let off 0.88 shots per 90 mins over the course of the campaign. Sky Bet are best priced on Milenkovic scoring anytime, at a tempting 12/1.

How both teams go into Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham

Perhaps the surprise package of this season’s Premier League has been Nottingham Forest, who, after the opening 17 rounds, find themselves in fourth place with nine wins and four losses. Nuno Espírito Santo’s side narrowly avoided relegation last term and now appears to be on track to secure European football.

After experiencing a six-game winless streak at home, consisting of three losses and three draws, Forest have bounced back, winning four of their last five matches at The City Ground. They will be aiming for a third consecutive win when Tottenham visits.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have often disappointed despite having strong performances. Following an emphatic 4-0 victory against champions Manchester City, they went on a three-game winless run before bouncing back with five unanswered goals against Southampton, and a win over Man United in the League Cup. Questions remain over Spurs and the 6-3 defeat to Liverpool last Sunday leaves them 11th in the table.

Nottingham Forest team news

Nicolas Dominguez is suspended after collecting five yellow cards. Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo will remain sidelined until January.

Tottenham team news

Guglielmo Vicario will be absent for an extended period. Spurs will also be without Richarlison and Ben Davies. However, Rodrigo Bentancur is available after serving his recent suspension. There are no updates on the return dates for Destiny Udogie, Wilson Odobert, Cristian Romero, and Micky van de Ven.
