Newcastle vs Arsenal prediction, odds, betting tips & team news: 5/4 and 10/1 tips for the early kick-off
Arsenal will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League as they travel to Newcastle United on Saturday lunchtime.
The Gunners have only taken one point from their last two league outings, with a defeat at Bournemouth and a point against Liverpool. Newcastle have gone five games without a top-flight win, but did record a win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
Bukayo Saka to Score or Assist (5/4 with BetMGM)
After missing the defeat to Bournemouth two weeks ago, Bukayo Saka once again proved how pivotal he is for Arsenal as he popped up with an excellent goal against Liverpool last Sunday. The potential worry for Saka is potential burnout and further injuries through playing so many matches at such a young age, but it’s hard for Mikel Arteta to leave out a young starlet, even if he’s not at 100%.
This season in the Premier League, Saka has provided more assists than any other player (7) and has scored three in his last two matches. This bet for Saka to score or assist has landed in seven of his eight games this season, and at 5/4, backing another goal contribution looks like a nice betting angle.
Kai Havertz to Score a Header (10/1 with BetMGM)
Only Erling Haaland has recorded more headed shots than Kai Havertz in the Premier League this season. Havertz has managed 11 headed attempts in just nine appearances this season, with one of those resulting in a goal, which came against Wolves on the opening weekend of the campaign. The 25-year-old has also scored a header in the Champions League this season and with 10/1 on show against a Newcastle side that are winless in five Premier League, 10/1 looks a very backable price.

How both teams go into Newcastle vs Arsenal
Both Newcastle and Arsenal had rocky returns from the international break. Newcastle lost in the league for the second time, beaten 1-0 at home by Brighton. They then travelled to the capital to take on Chelsea last weekend and suffered a 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
That now means the Magpies have gone five league games without a win, and despite their positive result midweek in the EFL Cup, Eddie Howe will know they must improve their form as they sit 12th in the table heading into the game with Arsenal.
Arsenal’s return from the break brought their first defeat of the season. The Gunners were beaten 2-0 by Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, their first away league defeat of 2024. This result saw them lose slight ground in the early title race.
That defeat was then followed up with a 2-2 draw against Liverpool at the Emirates last Sunday. Arteta’s side would have been seven points behind the Reds had they lost that game, and they will have to dig deep here if they want to remain significant title contenders, even at this early stage.
Newcastle host Arsenal at St James’ Park on Saturday 2nd November at 12:30pm.
Newcastle team news
Alexander Isak is set to start for the hosts on Saturday; however, Sven Botman remains sidelined with a knee injury. Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson, and Jamaal Lascelles are all confirmed absentees for Arsenal’s visit.
Arsenal team news
William Saliba will be back for Arsenal after his suspension ruled him out against Liverpool. Martin Odegaard, Riccardo Calafiori, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all injured, while Jakub Kiwior is likely to partner William Saliba at centre-back if Gabriel is not passed fit.
Newcastle vs Arsenal head-to-head
Games between these two sides have been fairly even of late. Arsenal and Newcastle have both won two of the past five games, with one draw.
