The stats behind our Newcastle vs Tottenham predictions:

  • Newcastle are unbeaten in their last five Premier League home games (W2 D3).
  • There have been 4+ goals in four of the last five meetings between the two sides.
  • Alexander Isak has scored in his last five Premier League home games.

Isak to continue scoring run?

With a goal against Everton in his last game at St. James’ Park, Alexander Isak became the first Newcastle player to score in five consecutive Premier League home games since Yoan Gouffran in December 2013. Another goal here would see him become the first Newcastle player to score 20+ goals across all competitions since Alan Shearer in 2002/03 and continue his challenge for the Golden Boot.

The Swede found the back of the net twice when these two sides met at St.James’ Park last season, only scoring more Premier League goals against West Ham (5) and Nottingham Forest (3) and will be confident of adding to his tally against Ange Postecoglou’s men this weekend.

He faces a Tottenham side that has struggled on the road since Christmas, with their 4-0 victory at Villa Park their only win. They’ve suffered defeats to Brighton and Fulham and picked up a single point against Man Utd, Everton and West Ham.  They will be motivated to get revenge for their 6-1 defeat on their last trip to the ground, where they conceded five goals in the opening 21 minutes of the match.
