Netherlands vs Hungary

The Netherlands will seek to qualify for the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals when they host Hungary on Saturday, November 16, at 7:45 PM. Oranje are currently in second place and tied on points with their opponents in Group A3. Hungary can secure a top-two position and advance to the final eight if they defeat the Dutch.

Both Teams To Score – Yes (20/23 with Betfair)

In five of the Netherlands’ last six UEFA Nations League matches, both teams have scored. Indeed, the Netherlands have scored seven in two Nations League home matches so far this autumn, though they have also conceded twice on both occasions. Hungary managed a score draw in the reverse fixture, and scored twice away in Zenica last time out.

Denzel Dumfries to score anytime (11/2 with Boyle Sports)

The Inter Milan wing-back has been playing in a very advanced role for both club and country recently. He has already notched twice in this autumn’s Nations League campaign, including in the return fixture in Hungary. Dumfries has fired off at least one shot in each of his last five Netherlands matches.

How both teams go into Netherlands vs Hungary

Few people expected the Netherlands to reach the semi-finals of Euro 2024, but they managed to do so. However, they have struggled to maintain that momentum in their Nations League campaign. They began with a win against Bosnia-Herzegovina, followed by a hard-fought draw against Germany. They then secured another point against Hungary but ultimately lost in Munich. Despite these ups and downs, Ronald Koeman’s team can secure a place in the quarter-finals with a win in their next match. Hungary is currently level on points with the Netherlands, and if they defeat the Dutch, they will secure a top-two spot and qualify for the quarter-finals. Both nations can feel safe from relegation given Bosnia & Herzegovina’s struggles in this group so far.

Netherlands team news

Ronald Koeman has almost a clean bill of health for his Oranje squad. Frenkie de Jong is still doubtful following a knee injury and is unlikely to be risked.

Expected XI: Verbruggen; Dumfries, de Vrij, van Dijk, van de Ven; Timber, Gravenberch; Simons, Reijnders, Gakpo; Zirkzee

Hungary team news

Dominik Szoboszlai is set to earn his 50th international cap against the Netherlands. Bendeguz Bolla is likely to miss out through injury.
