Man City vs Tottenham predictions, odds, betting tips and team news
Manchester City will be looking to snap a two-game Premier League losing streak when they host Tottenham on Saturday 23rd November at 5:30 pm.
Pep Guardiola’s men are going through a turbulent spell, which has seen Liverpool open up a five-point gap after 11 matches. As for Tottenham, they are not without their own issues, and come into this match having one of their previous five road games, including three losses. Our football betting expert Dean Woodward returns with his best bets.
Kulusevski over 0.5 shots and over 0.5 fouls (4/5 with Bet365)
This is a fixture that the Swede relishes, with three wins from six starts against City, he is a huge factor in the sides success.
With his physicality and ball carrying ability, he’s played a deeper role this season for Spurs, taking up that RCM role. He is priced at 1.5 for a shot which looks generous, albeit a tough match up against City. He has registered a shot in nineteen of his last twenty-one appearances, off the back of popping ten shots in two games for Sweden. Not to mention, he has managed at least one shot in all of his appearnaces vs City, bar one.
With the deeper role and already being a heavy fouler, this has continued at an insane rate with his increased responsibility in that midfield. He has fouled in twelve straight games now, most of the time registering two or more. He absolutely loves getting involved and I don’t see that stopping in the biggest game of the weekend.
Man City to win from behind (11/2 with Sky Bet)
This is a speculative price, and it would make for an entertaining game, but given how these teams are performing of late, I think its good price.
City either falling behind or Spurs going all Spursy and bottling a lead. These are things that have been quite frequent this year. Spurs have always been a bit of a bogey side for the Citizens, but can they really lose five in a row?
Two of City’s last four wins have been from behind, where both Wolves and Fulham managed to score early but to no avail. There’s no hiding the fact this City side have defensive issues, losing four straight games, I would like to think that Spurs can get on the scoresheet, something they’ve managed all but twice this season.
Spurs themselves are also off the back of defeats, losing their last two matches against Ipswich and Galatasaray. If Spurs can start fast, we could get a nice run for our money.

How both teams go into Man City vs Tottenham
The wheels have seemingly come off for Manchester City, who are usually in control. Guardiola’s side has lost their last four in all competitions. Never before has the Spanish tactician lost this many games on the bounce. Consequently, the defending Premier League champions remain in second after back-to-back losses, something Guardiola has experienced on four previous occasions: against Leicester City and Chelsea in December 2016, Crystal Palace and Leicester in December 2018, and Wolves and Arsenal in September-October 2023.
Before losing to Bournemouth on 2 November, City were on a 32-match unbeaten run in the Premier League, spanning 11 months after their 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa on 6 December 2023. They now find themselves in second and five points behind leaders Liverpool heading into the November international break.
It’s been a mixed season for Tottenham, who came into this campaign with high expectations, but they’ve only strung back-to-back wins once they head into matchday ten. Ange Postecoglou’s men have suffered four losses, three coming on the road at Newcastle, Brighton and Crystal Palace. As touched upon, Spurs’ record away from home lately has been poor. In this calendar year (2024), they’ve played 14 matches on the road, collecting three wins and suffering seven losses. However, one of those victories came in Manchester earlier this season when they ran out 3-0 winners at Man United.
