Man City

*Odds correct as of 16:30 on December 2

Man City made it back-to-back draws in the Premier League last weekend, as they followed up their enthralling 4-4 game at Stamford Bridge with a 1-1 draw at the Etihad against Liverpool on Saturday. It was the first time in 2023 that the Citizens had failed to win a home game across all competitions, with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s equaliser ending City’s 23-game winning run on home soil. Another draw here would see them draw three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since March and April 2017 in Pep Guardiola’s first season in charge.

That result against Liverpool now means that they head into this weekend’s games in second, four point behind leaders Arsenal as they look to win the Premier League title for a record fourth consecutive season after their historic Treble in 2022/23. It has been a tough period however, with Pep Guardiola’s side failing to win in four of their last seven Premier League games (two draws, two defeats), as many as in their previous 26 games beforehand.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have seen Ange Postecoglou’s record breaking start to the season fall to pieces after they made it three straight defeats in the Premier League after a 2-1 home loss to Aston Villa. Spurs haven’t had a longer losing run since losing six on the spin in October and November 2004, with Jacques Santini and Martin Jol managing three games each in that run, while the last Spurs manager to lose four in a row was David Pleat in March and April 2004.

They do have an impressive record against City however, winning five of their last seven Premier League games against them (losing twice), becoming Pep Guardiola’s newest bogey team. In fact, since the Spaniard joined the club in 2016, Man City have lost more Premier League games against Tottenham than they have against any other opponent (six), while against no side have they conceded more goals (19, level with Liverpool).

Man City vs Tottenham match tip

Destiny Udogie to be carded @ 3/1 with BetMGM

Destiny Udogie has adapted well to life in the Premier League, but has struggled with discipline. The full-back has committed more fouls than any other Tottenham player so far this season (23) and has picked up three yellows and one red in his 11 Premier League appearances. All four of his cards (five if you count the two yellows against Chelsea) have come against Big Six sides.
