Pep Guardiola once again locks horns with Ten Hag, with this being their seventh meeting. Erik ten Hag ended a three-game losing streak in May, potentially saving his job. The powers that be subsequently extended his contract as Man Utd manager until June 2026.

And Julian Alvarez is expected to leave for Atletico Madrid in a big money move.

After much speculation, Ten Hag retained his position as the Man Utd boss. His triumphant win over Man City at Wembley in May may have earned him a reprieve. It’s been a busy summer for the Red Devils too, with a handful of departures including Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial and Willy Kambwala.
Man Utd have also made two signings, with Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro joining the squad. However, Yoro has been ruled out for three months with an injury picked up in pre-season. He’s joined on the sidelines by Rasmus Hojlund, though the Dane’s absence will be shorter. But Hojlund will miss this game, and Ten Hag has hinted at using Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho as strikers in his absence.
